The plot of the film tells about how a mysterious murder takes place on the steamer “Karnak”, going along the Nile to Egypt. As a result, solving the crime falls on the shoulders of the famous detective Hercule Poirot, whose role is played by Kenneth Branagh for the second time. Gal Gadot stars in one of the lead roles.
However, the bright cast is not the only advantage of the picture. The jewelry brand Tiffany & Co. was involved in the creation of “Death on the Nile”: it was their famous 128.54-carat canary-yellow diamond that received the main precious role. Or, to be more precise, a perfect copy of him.
The Tiffany Diamond is one of the largest and finest yellow diamonds in the world. Discovered in 1877 in South Africa, a 287.42 carat diamond was purchased by company founder Charles Lewis Tiffany for $18,000. The rough stone was transported to Paris, where Tiffany’s chief gemologist, Dr. George Frederick Kunz, led the process of cutting the one-of-a-kind piece.
The result is a 128.54 carat cushion-shaped diamond with an unprecedented 82 facets, 24 facets more than the traditional 58 facet round brilliant cut.
For the film, The Tiffany Diamond necklace was recreated with extreme precision in collaboration with Tiffany & Co. To celebrate the occasion, colorless and yellow diamonds will be available in selected branded stores, reminiscent of the film’s looks.
The premiere in Russia should take place on January 14, 2021, the world premiere on December 16, 2020.
