The Department for International Trade Promotion (DITP) has released a new global marketing campaign celebrating the craftsmanship of Thai artisans who create Thailand’s famous jewellery.
The campaign, titled “The Miracles of Thai Jewels”, aims to raise global awareness and further establish Thailand as the preeminent trading center for the global gem and jewelery industry.
“Gems and jewelry is one of Thailand’s most exported commodities, generating over 664,000 jobs. As one of the country’s main industries, the government is working to develop Thailand into a gem and jewelry center and a major jewelry manufacturer, from mining to processing,” said Phousit Rathanakul Sereroengrit, CEO of DITP.
“As one of the world’s largest jewelry exporting countries, Thailand has a distinguished tradition of producing high quality jewelry. Global jewelry brands have recognized the craftsmanship of Thai artisans, and some of them have made Thailand their manufacturing base.”
He added: “They have benefited from a developed infrastructure, affordable raw material suppliers and, most importantly, the high quality craftsmanship of a skilled workforce.”
The Miracles of Thai Jewels campaign showcases Thailand’s gems and jewelry industry through a series of fashion jewelry films featuring Aokbab-Chutimon, a world famous Thai model.
